Watercolor of caboose, 18" x 24".  John Foster lived at 126 North State Street in Newtown, Bucks County, PA.

Antonio Allegri Correggio (1494-1534)

The next three Renaissance and one eighteenth century sketches
were consigned to us
from a retired woman whose English parents worked, lived, and traveled
extensively throughout Europe and South Africa
during the second and third quarters of the twentieth century. 
It was in this time period they acquired the art. 
Descriptions are obtained from information written on the reverse years prior.

Willette...2307 Newkirk Ave., Brooklyn, NY, 23" x 31".  Charles Willette was the chief commercial artist for the Whelan Drug Co., NYC.  Upon his retirement, he returned to Maine, the state of his birth, and spent his years painting.  In Maine he was a member of the Waldo County Artists group.
